If you're here, you probably already know this feeling.

You've already tried the things that are supposed to work — the books, the breathing, maybe the medication, the months of talk therapy. You understand your anxiety better than anyone, and it's still there. That's because anxiety and panic aren't a flaw in your character or your thinking. At the center of it sits the amygdala — your brain's threat detector. The moment it fires, it drives your autonomic nervous system directly: heart rate, breathing, gut. That's why panic isn't "just a feeling" but a full-body event — the pounding heart, the breathlessness, the chest pain, the freezing. And because this response is generated below conscious thought, the system can stay braced for danger that passed long ago.

Why it keeps coming back

Why understanding it — and medicating it — often isn't enough

Most conventional help works top-down: through the thinking brain. Talk therapy, including CBT, examines your thoughts and reframes them. It has real value — but it engages the body and the deeper nervous system only lightly. There is growing recognition in the field that when the nervous system is locked in survival mode, you cannot reason your way into feeling safe.

That's why so many intelligent, self-aware people can understand their anxiety completely — trace it, name it, explain its origins — and still feel it running through their body every single day. Insight is not the same as regulation.

Medication can dampen the symptoms while you take it, but it doesn't clear the underlying pattern — which is why, for many people, the anxiety returns when they stop.

None of this is a knock on therapy or medicine; they help many people, and they have their place. It's simply this: if you've done both and the fear is still living in your body, you are not failing. You've been working on the wrong floor of the building.

How I work

I work bottom-up — directly with the nervous system, where the fear response actually originates, rather than only through the thinking mind. Instead of managing symptoms or building a life around them, I go to the original root of the pattern and help you release it. When the root is gone, the symptoms have nothing to stand on. They don't need managing. They're simply not there.

You don't have to relive it

This work happens in the body, not in the retelling. There's no need to dig endlessly or cry through session after session — that only drains a system that already has nothing left. We do the opposite: release what's stuck, rebuild your reserves, and regulate the nervous system so it has the resource to heal.

It's fast, and it's finite

I don't keep people in therapy indefinitely. My goal is to take you from point A — a life with panic attacks and a dysregulated nervous system — to point B: a life free of panic and anxiety, with a newly regulated self that can withstand this complex life we all live.

It goes to the actual cause

Two people with identical panic attacks often carry completely different roots. I don't treat symptoms with generic protocols — I find and treat the whole system that led you to panic in the first place, which is why the results tend to hold.

6 weeks of deep work with your nervous system

Six weekly 90-minute sessions, online

Week 1

Find and clear the root

We regulate the nervous system and begin a deep release from fear, anxiety, overthinking and intrusive thoughts. You'll already start to feel lighter.

Weeks 2–4

Layer by layer

As we work, the next layers rise up asking for attention — old wounds tied to childhood, everything that led to the panic and anxiety you feel now. We work with the whole system that holds the psychosomatics in place, release the old neural programs, and form a new perception of yourself, your relationships, and the world around you. This is where it becomes not just relief, but personal transformation.

Weeks 5–6

Integrate and lock in

By this stage, most of my clients notice a clear improvement in how they feel. We stabilize the new baseline and give you what you need to hold it on your own — because the goal is that you don't need me afterward.

Aia Gabit, psychologist and nervous system practitioner

About me

I'm Aia Gabit — a psychologist and nervous system practitioner. Most of the people who come to me arrive after something else didn't work. That's the work I'm built for — reaching the underlying structure that keeps these problems in place to begin with.

I had panic attacks, emotional dependency, chronic anxiety, and psychosomatic conditions like IBS — so I know this from the inside, not from a textbook.

I hit a deep emotional crisis at 21, just after graduating from an engineering faculty, where I researched radiophysics and satellite remote sensing, published papers, and took prizes at my local university. I was trained to ask what the mechanism is, and to distrust anything that couldn't show me one. From the outside, I was a talented graduate with a bright future. But the psychological problems I'd been compensating for with study and academic achievement forced me to go inward, and I went looking for anything that would help.

I tried Al-Anon meetings, group cognitive behavioral therapy, meditation, hypnosis, even energy healing — all of it — but I couldn't release the deep layers of trauma I was carrying. Only when I started working with my nervous system did I see the shift I'd been praying for.

Today I'm trained in functional and applied neurology for psychosomatic conditions — the P-DTR method of Dr. José Palomar, Aleksandr Syromyatnikov's courses, the Three-in-One modality of Gordon Stokes and Daniel Whiteside, among others. Alongside my practice, I'm completing a master's degree with rigorous academic study, where my research examines self-regulation and mindfulness in panic disorder.

If you want to be free of what you're carrying, I'm someone who walked the same road. I've been through the states you're most likely living in right now, and I know them from the inside. If that resonates with you — you're in the right place.

Real stories

K. — panic attacks gone after the first session

She had lived with panic attacks since 2017 — the hyperventilating, the body freezing up, a whole day afterward of feeling wrung out — alongside years of anxiety, headaches, chest pain, an irregular heartbeat she'd had checked at the hospital. After moving to a new country her anxiety peaked; she was having attacks about once a week. She'd tried CBT and online therapy, and when none of it reached her, she found me. These are her results:

"I have not had any panic attacks since the first session, and I feel positive, excited, and freed from constricting ways of thinking. These sessions greatly changed my understanding of myself."

Problem

I have been experiencing panic attacks since 2017, including hyperventilating and body freezing up, with a "hangover" feeling the following day. I have also experienced anxiety since around the same time, with symptoms including headaches lasting for months affecting my vision, chest pain, and irregular heartbeat (I went to the hospital and doctors to rule out other causes). I saw a therapist briefly in 2021, (online, CBT method). In 2025, leading up to and following a move to a new city, my anxiety peaked and I was consistently very irritable and experiencing more frequent panic attacks (once per week).

Process

From the initial consultation with Aia, I was impressed by her knowledge, her straight-forward attitude, and her careful attention to my issues. I knew that I would be a good fit to work with her, as she has had success with patients with physical symptoms who have not had results with other forms of therapy. Her focus on completely resolving problems particularly appealed to me - she doesn't just want to help patients manage their symptoms, but to clear the cause of their problems. She doesn't intend to work with people perpetually but sets out a clear improvement plan; for example, she told me from the outset that we would need 3-5 sessions, and she clarified after the first session that it would be exactly 4 (and indeed, we had 4 sessions).

Aia has organized and held each session with great professionalism. She gave clear instructions on how to prepare for the session (good sleep, food before, no alcohol, etc.). She also confirmed each session in advance on the day of.

In our first session on 15 March, she immediately made me feel welcome and we chatted to diagnose what issue we would work on that day. She quickly sensed what the most important issue would be, and our work started. The "work" - on the part of the patient - involves visualising the topics causing anxiety (or other issues) and being in tune with the body to understand how it is feeling and with one's emotions to understand how one's perception is changing throughout the session. During this time, Aia helps to remove physical "blockages" in the body's energy. This process is non-invasive both physically and emotionally - I didn't even need to share any of the details of my emotional journey with Aia verbally, just conducted deep emotional work internally. After the session, I felt like I had just had a deep tissue massage.

When I came to the second session, I expected that Aia would once again do work harmonizing my nervous system. However, after a few minutes of talking, she identified that it would be more helpful that day to talk through issues. I had several amazing insights about how I approach relationships with family, friends and coworkers, and she gave me exercises to take away including reframing relationships and considering my own beliefs which will continue to be super helpful in the future. Even though she mentioned that talk therapy is not her specialty, this session showed she is a versatile professional - she is able to identify the patient's needs and choose the best tools from her wide toolbox to suit them.

Our third session then built on the exercises from the second session and included nervous system work to address an even deeper issue than the first session. We also identified a new, deeper cause of my anxiety.

The fourth session also started with conversation to identify the key issue to work on that day. Even before we did nervous system work, Aia guided my thoughts to understand one of my deepest issues, why I have certain fears, and how I can silence those fears. I felt more confident and understood how to treat myself and interact with the world already. The nervous system work cleared out some lingering physical issues related to this last issue and made me feel harmonized and free.

After each session, Aia prescribed useful activities including homework thought exercises to consider, dietary supplements to aid recovery from the sessions, (not medical, just vitamins), meditation and grounding exercises, and suggested reading for after our sessions ended.

The Results

Following the first session, after being sensitive for a few days (rest and quiet time recommended) I felt calmer and less irritable. It is also notable to mention - I have had a nervous tic of compulsively touching my eyebrows (like for 8 hours a day, whenever I am working, reading, thinking) for over 7 years. After this session, the tic immediately disappeared even though this hadn't been among my goals, and I have not started touching my eyebrows again - for a month now.

After the second session, I gained knowledge and skill to reframe my own beliefs and felt empowered to change my way of thinking myself.

After the third session, because it was deeper work I felt temporarily down, but I began to notice when I had negative thoughts aligned with my old way of thinking and flag that I no longer believed those negative things and felt that way. I was also able to experience new emotions that I had been suppressing before this session.

After our fourth and last session, I feel positive, excited, and freed from negative and constricting ways of thinking. I have not had any panic attacks since the first session and am confident that my panic attacks will not return.

Recommendation

Aia has helped me not only to improve my awareness of the roots behind the problems bothering me, but also to regulate my nervous system to concretely remove the root causes of my anxiety.

She is a very talented therapist with an innate ability to sense truths and great ability to work with nervous systems. She also combines her talent with rigorous study and in-depth knowledge of a wide variety of methods as both a scholar and a practitioner. She has great creativity and flexibility in using these diverse methods as necessary, shaping and tailoring them to each individual's needs. She brings a positive energy and sense of humor to the room and gives great care, always making sessions feel relaxed and never rushed or stressful.

After our last session I am so grateful to have met Aia and I believe that these sessions have greatly changed my understanding of myself and will change how I interact with the world moving forward!

N., 42 — seventeen years of panic attacks

She was 42 when we started, and she'd lived with panic attacks for seventeen years — since her father's illness and death. All that time she'd been treated for everything except anxiety. By the time she found me the list was staggering: panic attacks, health anxiety, constant background dread, insomnia, dizziness, ringing in her ears, a heart rate that swung from 180 beats per minute down to 48, a fear of dying, a fear of enclosed spaces. She described the worst of it as the fear physically rising from her stomach and hitting her head — each attack lived through, in her words, "like a small death."

We worked together for seven sessions. Months later, she wrote out the results herself:

"I didn't know what it meant to get up in the morning, drink my coffee in silence, with no noise in my head and no fear — is this what a normal person's life is, is this really possible? Symptoms in my body (a twinge in my heart, a click in my ear) no longer trigger the fear that used to spin my body up into panic. There have been no panic attacks these past months. There's no anxiety! I wake up without fear! I don't hear ringing in my ears, my heart doesn't ache and my pulse doesn't race — it was all psychosomatic. My irritability is down by about 70 percent. I sleep! I lie down and I sleep, the whole night!!!!! And I wake up full of energy — I don't need to nap during the day anymore. I'm active all the time now, and I don't feel worn down. I have energy, and I can't get enough of it! As a bonus, my headaches are gone, and I managed on my own to get free of the nasal-spray dependence I'd been abusing for four and a half years!"

The war veteran

He'd served in a war, and he came to me thirteen years after the incident that knocked him off balance.

"Generally I'm not one to write comments online or leave reviews, but in this case I think it's simply necessary… I'm what people would call an established man — family, children, work, in general: live and be glad. But thirteen years ago something terrible happened to me that badly knocked my inner energy off balance. At first I managed it myself, and for about six years I succeeded. But then some force I couldn't understand began to suck all the positive and good out of me. Everything became dull and indifferent — work uninteresting; family, well, it's there and fine. Even the brightest events in my life, the ones that used to thrill me, registered as something good, but not wow… I saw Aia's website and thought, well, it feels a bit shameful (you're a grown man), but I'll go :))) At the first session, embarrassed and crushed, I told my story — crocodile tears, like in childhood. I simply decided to trust her and tell it exactly as it was, because I had no strength left to endure my state any longer. And voilà — we did seven sessions, and I changed enormously. Bursts of Joy and Happiness for the people around me, for nature, for the world, and for my life in general started coming back… I don't know how she does it, but it really works. This isn't just a psychology session, it's something else — and it undoubtedly takes talent and a gift."

This one came from a daughter, about her father

"Aia, thank you so much, it's a miracle! After your sessions it's as though my father has only just started really living. He carried a heavy weight his whole life — always tense, and he lost so many people close to him. It was very painful to watch him drowning in it, and now it's as if he's been born again, even at retirement age. It's like he's been infected with wanting to achieve things, to thrive, to live joyfully. And along with his change, I see how all of us, his children, seem to have automatically been given a new path — noticeable changes in our finances and in our relationships. I'm grateful to you and to fate for bringing me to you. I wish every good person could meet you at least once — because even in a single session, you can heal wounds of the soul."

— a client's daughter

"Honestly — everything's good. I slept, my head is clear, my thoughts feel calm. Thank you for this."

— the morning after a single session

"I used to be afraid of flying — a 9 out of 10. We just landed, and I barely thought about anything bad the whole time. Maybe a 4."

— on a flight after our work

"After the first session the panic attacks stopped, and they didn't come back. Even a nervous habit I'd had for seven years quietly disappeared."

— a client who came to me after moving abroad

Start with a conversation

It begins with a free 20-minute consultation, online. On that call, I'll help you see what's actually going on underneath and roughly how many sessions it would take to solve it.

Because this is deep 1:1 work, I take on only a small number of clients at a time.

This work is not a substitute for emergency or psychiatric care. If you're in acute crisis or at risk, please reach out to a local crisis service or medical professional first — and we can talk when you're steady.

Questions people ask

How is this different from therapy?

Most talk therapy works through understanding — you examine the problem, often for a long time. I work through the nervous system to clear the root directly, which is why it tends to be faster and why the relief tends to hold.

Do I have to talk about my past?

Not in the usual sense — we don't talk endlessly with no result. When we do bring something up, it's to picture the situation so we can begin releasing it from the nervous system, examine the old beliefs it created, and build new ones. Clearing the old negativity and forming a new response to life is exactly what creates the new self — the one without the problem.

How many sessions will I need?

In my experience, six sessions of deep nervous-system work resolve panic attacks. If a seventh is needed, it's added.

Does it really work online?

Yes. The vast majority of my work is online, and the results are the same as in person.

I've tried everything — therapy, medication. Why would this be different?

Because most of what you've tried worked on the symptom or the story. This works on the root in the nervous system — usually the piece nothing else touched. It's the reason people find me after everything else didn't work.
